Writers: Michael Ferris and John D. Brancato
Plot: Set in a futuristic world where humans live in isolation and interact through surrogate robots, a cop is forced to leave his home for the first time in years in order to investigate the murders of others’ surrogates.
Audio: Fail. Wow the audio levels are so funky in this movie it’s not even funny. The few musical pickings in this movie over power the actors dialog while the sound effects over power the music and that means it is the most powerful of all audio in this movie. You will be changing the volume on this flick so much you may get a cramp in your finger. Oh and if you like bass be ready to get blown away the bass on this is off the charts. If you’re a chick feel free to straddle the speakers because you will get off and lot at that.
Visual: Pass Minus. Faded colors rule this movie next the audio that is. I understand why they wanted things to be faded but it’s not easy on the eyes. Not enough action to call this an action movie, least not by my standards. There are a few car chase scenes and some small fights but that’s it.
Writing: Pass. The writing here is dual layered: on the top layer you have the simple cop wants justice theme but listen to the dialog and you will see a nice underlining theme about morality, ethics and the evolution of humanity.
Acting: Pass Minus. It was just dry and dull. The movie has people who know how to act too.
Ed/Dir: Pass. Nothing new here. I would say that this area is the strongest and most consistent thru-out the movie.
Final Feelings: The movie is a Fail Plus nothing really stands out in a good way. Don’t waste money on this one.
