Director: Peter Billingsley
Writers: Jon Favreau and Vince Vaugh
Plot: A comedy centered around four couples who settle into a tropical-island resort for a vacation. While one of the couples is there to work on the marriage, the others fail to realize that participation in the resort’s therapy sessions is not optional.
Audio: Pass. Crisp and clean audio is always nice to have and this film gives it to you. You can hear all the dialog, the music does not overpower anything. The soundtrack is a mix of things from the 80′s to today.
Visual: Pass Plus. Malin Akerman, Kristen Bell and Kristin Davis in bikinis and underwear need I say more? I do well? Well OK. I will steal one of the lines from the movie to describe the look of the island: “Shit..This looks like a screen saver.” And by that the character means that it is very clean and serene. This movie isn’t very visual as say other comedies but the locale and the ladies make up for that. One scene the ladies strip down to their underwear and I actually exclaimed “DAMN!” when Kristin Davis showed what she’s got on. She’s not a bad looking chick but hot damn I would have salm fucked her into stupidity right then and there if I was on set with here. Then we have Kristen Bell who shows just how flexible she is. Trust me you will be thinking of that for a bit after the movie.
Writing: Pass. The movie is a good mix of smart and stupid humor with hints of romance. Here are some lines for the movie:
Dave: The Code?Asstastic… Yes, Asstastic. A-S-S-TASTIC did you get that? Are we good? Good.
–
The Junk is question is someone cock and balls:
Dave: Is his junk out?
Ronnie Yes.
–
Dave: Hi, I’m Dave.
Ronnie: Ronnie.
Dave: That’s a pretty name.
Ronnie: Thank you.
Dave: Do you have a phone? I need to call God and tell Him that one of His angels is missing.
Ronnie: That’s the cheesiest line I have ever heard.
Dave: I know, I’ve been out of the game for a while. I’ve been slumming it with a really hot redhead that I’m married to.
OK I can’t really recall the smart humor but it’s in there.
Acting: Pass. Jason Bateman steals most of the movie I think. The way he just delivers his lines with such a straight face is just amazing seeing what some of the things that comes out of his mouth are. The whole cast seemed to work well with each other and when that happens it just makes things so much easier to watch.
Ed/Dir: Pass The director should have forced the ladies to wear less but besides that the there was no odd angels or experimental shots. There was the use of split screen a few times but it was all in the same scene so don’t freak out. I like split screen usage and feel that it does not get taken advantage of as much as it should.
Final Feelings: The movie Passes. A lot of folks don’t like it and I can’t understand why. It has good actors, is well written, nicely paced and the ladies are lovely. Unless you’re a real fan of any of the actor(ess) in it just rent it.

kristen bell is so beautiful! i wish she had more big time roles. i’ve loved her movies.
She deff a good looking chick but I’m just not a huge fan of her acting. Maybe it’s just the roles she has had.
