Plot/Synopsis:
A soldier who wakes up in the body of an unknown man discovers he’s part of a mission to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train;he has 8 minutes to do it.
Forethought(s):
This is a time travel movie so it’s going to be really good or really bad. There are very few in the middle time travel movies.

Chicago Blackhawks hockey team has a cameo in the movie.
The Breakdown:
Dr. Beckett finds himself leaping from life to life, striving to put right what once went wrong, and hoping each time that his next leap, will be the leap home. WAIT! That’s not the idea of this movie is it? Kinda actually and to top it off Scott Bakula does a voice over cameo and says the line he is known for “Oh boy.” So you replace Dr.Beckett with Colter Stevens;leaping into many bodies to just one and each leap for Colter last 8mins. There you have what Source Code is. Fear not there is an Al in this movie as well as a Ziggy. The more you watch this movie the more you will see Quantum Leap. In fact I want to go watch Quantum Leap.
The movie is pretty solid. Really, the only issue I had was that none of the leaps last the 8mins that is stated in the movie and that’s understandable because if they did the movie would be WAAAAYY to long. I think I clocked the first leap at around 7mins the rest were way shorter. What was neat was that not every leap was just like the last one like some may think. What I mean by that is that there is more than just minor little changes that tend to occur in these types of movies.
The writing was good. It was not at all convoluted like a lot of time travel stuff is….I’m talking to you Star Trek(s). Don’t get me started on that. What I think people will take issue with is the so called twist ending. It was not a twist ending if you paid any attention to the movie and understand at even a rudimentary level about time travel. The writer was very subtle about dropping hints as to how the movie was going to end. I usually get so pissed off with this kind of ending,however,I found myself actually caring about the lead roles that I was happy that it ended in the way it did. And again the writer foreshadowed how the movie was going to end and in a way that when you see it you will be like “FUCK THAT WAS SMART!” Just like that, take my word on it.
The acting was good. Not campy like I was actually expecting. I have no reason for thinking it was going to be campy, I just did. Jake Gyllenhaal at the start of the movie was not very convincing but as the role matured, his skills kicked in and was enjoyable to watch. Michelle Monaghan is the other lead of the movie and like very other film I’ve seen her in she plays the good girl with man issues. I’m not really sure why I liked her in this movie or any of the other ones she does. Maybe it’s because she looks like a real chick, by that I mean not all plastic and weighted down by make-up. Or maybe it’s because she plays the “every chick” very well.
Almost forgot this movie uses the “Fuck you!” once. And you know what, it was unneeded in this movie.
The Verdict:
This movie is very good it’s that simple.
I give this flick 5 leaps out of 5.
